Scratch (www. Scratch.mit.edu) is an online community and social networking forum. In this platform, youth (ages 8-16 years) code games, animations, and stories using media-based programming language. Scratch has been designed to support the development of CT in young people . Within Scratch users have the opportunity to see projects completed by others, use pre-existing code, comment on each other projects and seek assistance from others. The social interactions in the Scratch online community take place around commenting, remixing, and sharing computer programs (called projects).
Data Analytics
In order to investigate social interactions taking place within the Scratch community I am using methods of social network analysis (e.g., clustering, betweeness centrality, modularity). I have used open-source network analysis and visualization software package Gephi to genereate representations.
